The menu is a testament to Italy’s rich culinary tradition, with each dish thoughtfully prepared to highlight fresh, high-quality ingredients and classic flavors. Pasta lovers will find themselves lost in the sublime textures and harmonious flavors of offerings like the Gnocchi Alla Sorrentina, boasting pillowy gnocchi bathed in tangy tomato sauce and melted mozzarella, or the elegantly rustic Linguine Alle Vongole, where tender clams meet perfectly al dente linguine in a garlicky, white wine broth. For a heartier choice, the Lasagna Bolognese and the Pappardelle Cinghiale offer robust, savory pleasures that satisfy the soul with every bite.
Sides such as the sautéed spinach, Brussels sprouts, and creamy mashed potatoes provide a fresh complement to the mains, adding vibrant colors and textures to the plate. And no Italian meal here is complete without a sweet finale—whether you savor the rich, velvety Tiramisu, the crispy yet creamy Cannoli, or the decadent Chocolate Souffle, each dessert is a perfect balance of indulgence and tradition.
Beyond the cuisine, what truly sets LOCANDA POSITANO apart is the heartfelt service and inviting hospitality. Customers repeatedly highlight the attentive, kind staff and the genuine warmth that feels like dining in an Italian family’s home. What a delightful dining experience for a Mother's Day brunch. People here are very friendly and the food is excellent. The outdoor dining patio is cute with good vibes. With the LA sun, we really enjoyed the outdoor dining environment. This is our first time here. For Mother's Day, the restaurant offers a special brunch/lunch menu. The vino selection is extensive. We had a glass of Chardonnay to go with our food. Delectable wine paired perfectly with our seafood meal. Although this is our first time here, we were impressed with the food. The calamari appetizer was extraordinary. The batter on the calamari was flaky and crispy. We loved it. The main dishes were fabulous. For the Linguine Alla Positano and the Branzino, the flavor and the texture of the pasta were amazing. These dishes were delicious. Since we are in an Italian restaurant, a meal wouldn't be complete without a lasagna. The Lasagna Al Sugo Di Vitello at this restaurant with the brown meat and the red tomato sauce looked mouth watering. The creamy cheese made this dish so yummy. We glad that we ordered it. At the end of our meal, the restaurant gave my wife a red rose to wish her Happy Mother's Day. It was a perfect ending to our Mother's Day brunch.
Omgoodness what a beautiful neighborhood gem! Went here for a date night on a Friday night, I didn't go inside so can't speak to the inside but the back patio is so cute with lights, speaker, and heaters if needed. The service was warm and thorough, what I assume is an Italian family owned restaurant. That pasta texture o.m.g. perfectly al dente with so much flavor and the perfect chewiness. I loved my dish the rigatoni al sugo di Manzo, the short rib was so soft and good. My partner got the pappareelle al cinghiale, sauce was a little sweet for my liking but the noodles again were amazing. Meatballs were also so good, the flavor was 10/10. Even the bread and olive oil and vinegar were delicious lol. A little on the pricier side but I feel like with a location on Lincoln and also with the quality of the food, definitely worth it for a nice night out. Can't wait to come back.
Locanda Positano is a gem in Marina del Rey. We ordered a spread of antipasti, pastas, and entrées, and every dish was spot-on — fresh, perfectly prepared, and true to classic Italian cooking. The setting is cozy and feels a little tucked away, which makes it a great choice when you want something more intimate. If you’re looking for outstanding Italian food in the Marina area, this place should be at the top of your list.
Just discovered this restaurant on Lincoln Blvd that has been there for a decade. Going in thru an art studio into the back patio this place has its charm. Really loved fried calamari and the veal with lemon sauce. Portions are on a big side. Service is kind and attentive. Owner is very friendly. Good selection of wines as well. Glad I found it.
Outstanding dinner. Definitely some of the best pasta dishes ever created. If you’re looking for an authentic experience, look no further…
Authentic Italian cuisine with a solid wine list and incredible service! Cute spot for outdoor dining.
The restaurant is intimate in its physical space so reservations obviously are a necessity. Even then you may have to wait a short bit because customers don't operate by reservation times. The service was pleasant and attentive, the menu is quite varied and the dishes for the most part are plentiful and quite good. The pasta seafood is beyond compare, and well worth its price point. Overall restaurant is a bit pricey for it's offerings, but they do have an extensive wine selection for those that enjoy. New York steak was grilled medium and full of flavor with excellent tenderness. The mini bombolone was excellent and surprisingly airy and delicious. The calamari was so light and perfectly fried with just the right seasoning with a side marinara that's drinkable. I think we would definitely visit again for a special occasion.
I've been going to this place for years and I still say this place has some of the best Italian food in the city. It's a perfect mix of rustic favors from the north and the simple, clean flavors of the southern Italian coast. The place itself is small, quaint and only has about a dozen tables, so do make a reservation. The service is spectacular and the whole experience was like dining at a place with Michilan Star. If you haven't been...go, if you haven't been in a while, the menu changes...make a reservation!
